Meet the artist…

Sheena studied Surface Decoration at Leicester Polytechnic (BA Hons Textile Design), 1995.
Following the completion of a PGCE, she became a Nursery Teacher working for over 20 Years at the internationally renowned Pen Green Centre in Corby, Northants.
In 2018 she once again picked up her paints and made her first picture.  She hasn’t stopped painting since.

Set in the rolling hills and fields of Rutland, Sheena’s pictures are often autobiographical and begin as an attempt to pin down a sometimes poignant memory or feeling. Snippets from a longer story.

Her style continues to evolve and is influenced by a magpie-mix of visual interests from medieval imagery to landscape painting and English Folk Art.
